Five local teams of architects, engineers, construction companies and other organizations will come together to construct huge holiday-themed art sculptures made of canned food items for Knoxville’s first “Holiday Canstruction” to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee.

See the structures as they are built on Nov. 22 when the teams will gather at the Knoxville Convention Center’s Henley and Cumberland concourse for a 12-hour build of their sculptures of traditional holiday themes, like a Christmas fireplace mantle, sleigh, Santa Claus, nutcracker and snowman. The structures will include a combined total of more than 8,000 canned items.

Please see attached media advisory for a list of teams and more details about the event. Interviews are available Friday with Messer VP Andy Lorenz, Second Harvest Executive Director Elaine Streno and team members.
