Commissioners Bob Thomas and Jeff Ownby and Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett surprised The Love Kitchen’s founders, twin sisters Helen Ashe and Ellen Turner, with a donation drop-off during their birthday party on Thursday, March 26. The sisters turned 87 on March 8.

The donations included several barrels of canned-food and a check for more than $2,600. They were collected during December at the Knox County Parks and Recreation Department’s annual Holiday Festival of Lights event.
