Shepherd’s Men, a group of 14 members running from Boston to Atlanta to raise money for treatment of PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), will make a stop in Neyland Stadium on Wednesday, March 30th at 3 p.m. as part of a nine-day run through 10 cities.

The men will enter through Gate 21A and continue onto the field where they will be presented with t-shirts and an American flag that has been flown over Neyland Stadium.

Shepherd’s Men is a fundraising group for the SHARE Military Initiative at Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The SHARE Military Initiative is a 12-week program treats PTSD and TBI in U.S. Military Veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars.

Each member of the group, which includes several members of the Marine Corps and U.S. Army, is running 22 kilometers per day while wearing a 22-pound flak vest. The number 22 represents the average number of suicides that occur among United States veterans each day.

Knoxville is the sixth city on the schedule of the 2016 Shepherd’s Men run. On Wednesday, the group will start the day in Lynchburg, Virginia, make a stop at the D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia, and continue on to Knoxville. The men will depart Knoxville on Thursday morning to make their way to Nashville.

The 2016 Shepherd’s Men are running the longest distance since the group was created in 2013. The group hopes to raise $1 million for the SHARE Military Initiative. The initiative is primarily donor-funded, and to date, no graduate of the program has been lost to suicide.
