The LeConte Photographic Society is pleased to present a photo program by Kayla Epperhart.  She will discuss her adventures along the Appalachian Trail.  She hiked the entire trail in 2016 and it took just over six months.  She will share photos and stories of why she did it, how she survived this long hike and about the people she met along the way.

Kayla grew up on the “Plateau” in Crossville, TN next to mountains and a cow pasture.  In 2006, she moved to Knoxville to attend Johnson Bible College a.k.a. Johnson University.  She married after dating for one year while in college.  After graduating with a degree in Bible and TESOL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language),  she and her husband fell into a lucky business transaction allowing them to purchase a video game store in South Knoxville.  The store was so successful that the following year, they decided to purchase a second video game store in Boone, North Carolina and also open up a vapor/electronic cigarette store in South Knoxville.  Her marriage hit bottom in 2014, and early 2015 she decided to hike the Appalachian Trail.  Having the time apart allowed her and her husband to finally come to the decision to divorce.  She finished hiking on October 2, 2015 and now lives in St. Louis, Missouri with her boyfriend, whom she met on the trail.  They’re both working and saving up for their next adventure.

Please plan to join us for this very interesting program on Saturday, July 16 at 10:00 a.m. at the King Library in Sevierville.  This is a free program and is open to the public.  This is not a library sponsored program.  You may visit www.lecontephotographic.com  for information on the photo club.
