Knoxville Civil War Roundtable:  One of the country’s most distinguished Civil War historians, James I. Robertson will address “The Turning Point of the Civil War.” For 150 years historians have argued over the point at which Confederate prospects for victory reached a high water mark.   Was it Antietam? Gettysburg? Vicksburg? Dr. Robertson wades into the fray at this lecture.

 

Dr. Robertson is the author of more than 25 books on the Civil War. He also served as Executive Director of the US Civil War Centennial Commission for several presidents and taught for 44 years at Virginia Tech where he taught the largest CW class in the nation. Dr. Robertson is a recipient of every major CW history award and a lecturer of national acclaim.  The lecture will begin  at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2018, Bearden Banquet Hall, 5806 Kingston Pike.
