UPDATE:

This Friday, Volapalooza, UTK’s annual music festival, will be moved to Thompson-Boling Arena. Due to recent inclement weather, the performance lawn at World’s Fair Park will not be able to be used for the event.

 

The time and date of the festival will not be changed. It will still be held this Friday, April 27th from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. 

 

What: The University of Tennessee’s annual music festival, Volapalooza, is presented by Campus Events Board. It is the largest student-organized event and occurs on the last day of spring semester classes.

 

When: April 27, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

 

Where: World’s Fair Park Performance Lawn. 963 Worlds Fair Park Dr, Knoxville, TN 37916  Thompson-Boling Arena

 

Who: Blackbear, Zella Day, R.LUM.R, Peak Physique, Hardcastle and Oddnote will perform at this year’s music festival.

 

How: Opted-in UT students can continue to pick up their FREE wristband on campus during the week of April 23-27. For general public and opted-out students, tickets are $15 ($20 at the door) and may be purchased online at https://buy.knoxvilletickets.com/online/article/volapalooza2018.

 

What Else: In addition to musical performances, Volapalooza will feature food trucks including The Gelato Brothers, CJ’s Tacos, Bananagans, Meatballs Madness, and the Chicken Coop. Other vendors include Vagabondary, Surf Tennessee, and Paris Woodhull Illustrations. Volapalooza 2018 sponsors such Microsoft, Vera Bradley, Born This Way Body Arts, SweetTarts, and McDonald’s McDelivery will have installations and giveaways onsite. There will also be stations for hair braiding, henna tattoos, flower crowns and jewelry making.

 

And More: Volapalooza is partnering with UT Recycling and Red Bull this year for its “Make Vola Green” initiatives.  UT Recycling will provide a water refilling station onsite and give out reusable water bottles. Red Bull’s “Can for a Can” will take place on campus next week, where students can recycle any aluminum can for a cold Red Bull in return and get entered to win an artist meet & greet. Preston Farabow, a local Knoxville artist, will be at Volapalooza to do a live art sculpture out of the recycled Red Bull cans.
