The UT Arboretum and UT Arboretum Society are offering a one-day Science Camp, “The Science of Nature,” taught by area naturalist and environmental educator Kris Light.

The camp is designed for rising fifth and sixth grade students, but other ages are welcome. The number of students is limited to 20, and early registration is recommended. The camp will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10th.

This fun and educational camp will include crafts, nature study activities and is focused on teaching children “hands on” applications of science in nature. The cost is $25 for Arboretum Society members and $30 for non-members. For registration, contact UT Arboretum Education Coordinator Michelle Campanis at mcampani@utk.edu  or call 865-483-7277.

Kris Light is well known in the area for her educational programs at the American Museum of Science and Energy in Oak Ridge and has lead nature hikes and programs such as MOTH-ER’S Night Out at the UT Arboretum for many years.
