Free resource connecting community members to nonprofits during November and December
Volunteer East Tennessee’s 2018 Holiday Guide to Volunteering goes live Thursday, November 1 at 8:00 a.m. on the organization’s website volunteeretn.org/HolidayGuide.
The guide features dozens of volunteer opportunities both ongoing and one-time events during the months of November and December. Whether you want to put your baking skills to good use in support of FOCUS Ministries, assemble gift bags for homebound seniors with the Office on Aging, or organize a personal essentials drive to benefit Volunteer Ministry Center, the guide has something for individuals and groups in a variety of impact areas with nearly 20 organizations.
“The Holiday Guide to Volunteering is a simple way for people to find ways to give back this holiday season,” said Alyson Gallaher, Executive Director of Volunteer East Tennessee. “There is always interest to serve meals, but often those volunteer shifts have been filled for months before Thanksgiving. There are so many other ways to feel that glow from doing good with other deserving organizations in our community that desperately need volunteers.”
