Dear KCS families,

Our team has been busy working to make our “KCS at Home” resources available to students, and we are excited that on Monday you will have access to these materials.

As we have shared previously, participation in “KCS at Home” is voluntary, and completion will not affect a student’s grade. We encourage our students to take advantage of these resources, which are designed to help them stay engaged in learning and reinforce previous instruction. These resources will be made available on our website at http://knoxschools.org/kcsathome.

Please view the attachment for important additional details.

We understand that you have many questions and concerns. We are hoping to receive further guidance from the Tennessee State Board of Education on April 9, 2020, during its special-called meeting, and we will update you as we know more.

Our goal will always be to make decisions that benefit our students the most.

To help address some of your questions, we will be hosting a virtual Community Meeting from 3 p.m.- 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7. The meeting will be live-streamed on KCS TV Comcast Channel 10 and on our website and will be available to be viewed later at your convenience. Please submit your questions by 5 pm on Saturday, April 4, to kcsathome@knoxschools.org.

We realize these are challenging times but please know that we are concerned about the wellbeing of our students and families. I encourage you to follow the public health guidelines that have been issued. Stay safe and healthy!

Sincerely,

Bob Thomas
Superintendent
Knox County Schools
