More than ten local organizations are hosting a Block Party Under the Bridge on Saturday, May 4 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. The event will be held under the bridge located across from KARM on North Broadway.

The event was created to provide resources and activities for people who utilize the “day space” in the North Knoxville area near downtown Knoxville.

The event includes four major components: food, art, entertainment, and resources. Free food will be available, and attendees will have the chance to help create art. Live music will fill the event from local artists including Smiley and the Love Dawgs, Secret City Cyphers, Guy Osborne, and Turnaround Norman.

A number of healthcare and community-related resources will be available including HIV/HCV testing, wound care, NARCAN training and voter registration.

Knoxville organizations partnering to make the event possible include Next Step Initiative, The Salvation Army, CAC Americorps, Volunteer Ministry Center, Helen Ross McNabb, City of Refuge, A Step Ahead, Planned Parenthood, Warrior Women, and Sustainable Future Center. Additional event support and entertainment will be provided by Magpies and Dragonfly Aerial Arts.

Anyone interested in volunteering at the event is encouraged to contact Rebecca Parr at rparr1964@icloud.com.
