East Tennessee Quality Growth and the League of Women Voters of Knoxville/Knox County are offering a “Citizens Academy for Planning” from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, and Saturday, Feb. 24, at the City County Building.

This is a two-day workshop for those who want to learn more about the role of local planning such as Metropolitan Planning Commission and how the planning process can be utilized to effect change in our communities. The goal is to provide participants with an understanding of the tools and skills needed to navigate planning and land use.

There will be a light breakfast at 8:30, lunch, and a reception to follow on Feb. 24.

Participation is free for Knox County residents. There is a $30 fee for anyone outside the county, plus the purchase of optional reading material. Applications are now being accepted. For more information, email ETQG at info@etqualitygrowth.org.
