Great Smoky Mountains National Park is opening up tomorrow. Come and hike with us! Let’s show solidarity with our park employees and park partners, Great Smoky Mountains Association (GSMA) and Friends of the Smokies (FOTS), and hike in the park now that it has reopened.

Join GSMA and Friends of the Smokies for a beautiful fall color hike along Chasteen Creek.

We’ll hike along Bradley Fork and Chasteen Creek Trails to marvel at the changing leaves, late fall flowers, and a tumbling waterfall. This hike celebrates the reopening of Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

On Thursday, October 17th hiking expert, author of several outdoor publications, GSMA board member and Friend of the Smokies volunteer Danny Bernstein will lead this 7-mile out and back hike. The hike is moderate in difficulty with a total ascent of 1,200 ft. and partially follows an old roadbed beside the creek. After the downhill return, participants can get an early jump on their holiday shopping at the Oconaluftee Visitor Center. Please plan to visit the store.

The hike will leave Bradley Fork trailhead near Smokemont at 9:45 am.
