EDIT: Due to the threat of rainy conditions, the 16th Annual Bike to Work Day has been rescheduled to Friday, June 3.

Are you a regular bike commuter who wants some company on your daily ride? Are you new to it and want to meet people and learn the best routes? Come out for the 16th annual Bike to Work Day on June 3, 2016! It’s a great opportunity to introduce those who have considered bike commuting and it’s a fun way for those who already participate to meet new people.

“It’s fine if you drive to the convoy meeting location and then bike in with the group,” says Kelley Segars, Principal Planner with the Knoxville Regional Transportation Planning Organization. “You’re still saving money on gas, and making physical activity part of your daily routine.”

Meet up with other riders at various locations Friday morning and head out together. Rides leave from north, south, east, and west and travel to Market Square. There will be coffee and treats provided by Trio Café and Wild Love Bakehouse from 7:30-8:30 a.m., and Smart Trips awards presented at 8 a.m.

Don’t work downtown or have a different schedule? We want to recognize you, too! Other rewards for biking to work on May 20th:

A free ice cream cone from The Original Freezo

A free cup of coffee from Old City Java

A free cup of coffee from Wild Love Bakehouse

Thanks to all these local businesses for their donations and support! Check out ibikeknx.com for more events and discounts from generous local businesses throughout the month of May. Discounts are offered to anyone with an I Bike KNX helmet sticker, which are available by taking a safe biking pledge online, at Mast General Store, or at Three Rivers Market.
