Winter’s longest month has already ended!   It is the block of time that puts us on track to face the upcoming year after the long-awaited holiday season celebrating Christmas and New Year’s.

January marks the birthday of Elvis Presley, though it is hard to even imagine that the popular singer would have turned 85!  Basketball brings excitement to winter months.  The annual “We Back Pat” week was held recently celebrating the life and legacy of legendary Coach Pat Summit while raising awareness and funds for her Alzheimer’s foundation.  January 2020 has brought few snow flurries, and the bitter cold earlier in the month has given way too much milder temperatures.  Before January 31 arrived though, the flu and virus season hit hard causing a long list of East Tennessee schools to close for several days.  With extended time off from school, many families may have found themselves cooking a pot of chili to add warmth and spice to January’s wintry days.  Enjoy the rest of winter!  Be safe; be healthy; be happy!
