It may well be the cleanest and best organized antique shop in the region and Kim and Donna are proud of their store and merchandise.
Not only does Antique Addiction have lots of vendors but the ladies also offer their own selection of items. Located at 3529 West Emory Road in Powell, just off Clinton Highway, the large store offers a friendly, knowledgeable and inviting atmosphere.
Operated by Daniel and Kim Pratt and Donna Braden and her husband Kurt, the store had been located in Solway but quickly outgrew their space there. About a month ago they moved to the new location and now have more than 5,000 square feet with 15 vendors and room for more. Lots of antique customers quickly followed the ladies to their new location.
“We buy out estates and have a little bit for everyone,” Braden said.
Pratt added, “We even have one piece that was picked by American Pickers.”
In Antique Addiction you’ll find everything from needlepoint items to record albums, classic radios, glassware, ceramics, cast iron, vintage toys, lunch boxes, and a pre-Civil War cabinet that opens to become a desk.
As you walk around the store and view the vendors’ sections you will find primitive pieces, paintings, quilts, etc. The store features vintage Christmas items, cameras, advertising signs and items, and even jewelry.
“We have tobacco tins, penny shooter banks, cast iron banks, pedal cars, and a wide variety of antique and vintage furniture,” Pratt said.
There’s even a 1950s style kitchen, lots of cookie jars, oil lamps and rotary phones. If you’re looking for the unique you’ll find it at Antique Addiction.
“I love the history part and to hear people say they had that item as a child,” Pratt said, noting that even younger people are getting into “mid-century” items.
“Both our husbands are veterans and are proud to have served our country. We give a 10% discount to veterans every day,” Braden said.
Antique Addiction is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and on Sundays from noon until 5 p.m. You can find them on Facebook or call the store at (865) 512-9923.
