The LeConte Photographic Society will host Roger Trentham of Gatlinburg, TN for a great program about “Western Parks and Other Marvelous Places” on Saturday, April 24, 2018 at the King Library in Sevierville, TN in the Burchfield Room.  This program is free and open to the public.

Travel with Roger Trentham as he leads you from the rugged Rocky Mountains of Canada to the arid deserts of Arizona and many places in-between.  Roger will not only present these beautiful places but give you advice on when to visit them, how to prepare for your visit and show you many well-known and not-so-well known places from the mountaintops to the desert floor.  Explore Jasper and Banff National Parks in Canada through Theodore Roosevelt, Badlands, Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks traveling South to Arches, Canyonlands, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon and Zion National Parks with many little known places in-between.  Most people have never heard of Bull River, Canada, Valley of Fire, Nevada or Goblin Valley, Utah but there are many little known areas that are just as magnificent as any national park.  Roger’s program, as always, will be casual and open to audience questions and answers.
Roger Trentham is an eighth generation native of the Smoky Mountains who expresses his love of the mountains and their inhabitants through photography, exploring and hiking. He has spent his life studying and photographing nature in all its glory.  Roger’s photographic subjects cover the gamut from macro to wildlife to grand scenics.

Roger’s educational pursuits have lead him to a Master of Business Administration and various professional certifications. He began teaching nature photography workshops more than thirty years ago in the days of print and slide film which has given him a basis for today’s digital era.

Roger’s images have been published and shared both regionally and nationally and he continues teaching nature photography through workshops, seminars and nationally recognized events such as the annual Wilderness Wildlife Week.
