U.S. Housing and Urban Development Southeast Regional Administrator Denise Cleveland-Leggett, announced the selection of Bob W. Cook, to serve as HUD Field Office Director for Knoxville, Tennessee on July 10, 2018.
As the Knoxville Field Office Director, Cook will serve as HUD’s liaison to mayors, city managers, county commissioners, elected representatives, state and local officials, congressional delegations, nonprofit groups, private entities, faith-based groups, other stakeholders and individual Americans encompassing 37 counties in East Tennessee. He will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of HUD programs and services to communities and individuals, as well as, evaluating their efficiency and effectiveness.
“Bob brings a unique blend of leadership and HUD cross programmatic experience to East Tennessee,” said Cleveland-Leggett. “He will enhance and accelerate the ongoing efforts and progress being made throughout the communities he serves.”

Bob served in various executive management and leadership capacities over the past 25 years with HUD. He served as a former Project Manager, Multifamily Chief, Senior Operations Specialist, Senior Management Analyst, Field Office Director (Dallas, TX) from 2008-2013 and most recently served as the Acting Field Office Director with the Miami HUD Office.
Previously, he served as a member of the Statewide Texas Foreclosure Task Force Commission, the Dallas and Fort Worth Mortgage Bankers Association, the National Associations of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, National Association of Realtists, member of the Federal Building Security Committee and was appointed by the Federal Executive Board to Chair the Dallas, Fort Worth Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Committee for two consecutive terms. Bob was also on the advisory board for several local colleges in and around Dallas.
In his spare time, Bob is active in civic leadership, academics, and giving back to the community. He earned his Doctorate in Business Administration from Argosy University, with a specialty in Management/Leadership. In addition, he has completed studies at the John F. Kennedy School of Government Executive Program at Harvard University.
