If you are walking around Knoxville this week, you may notice carved pumpkins, festive leaves, and maybe even something spooky! Halloween is just days away, and many neighborhoods across the city are preparing for Trick or Treaters.

Historic Fourth and Gill Neighborhood Organization will hold to tradition with their annual Costume Parade and Chili Cook-off, on Thursday, Oct. 31, at 4:30 p.m. Costumed neighbors of all ages will line up on Luttrell Street to show off their creative, spooky, and imaginative costumes.

Historic Holston Hills Community Club will celebrate tonight, Tuesday, Oct. 29, with the Holston Hills Trick or Treat Event at the Holston Hills Country Club. Candy seekers will have an opportunity to search for loot along the golf course trail, by foot or by golf cart. There will be a hayride, and the event will wrap up with chili, hot dogs, and some super fun events for the kids.

Lindbergh Forest Neighborhood Association will also host a fun event on Halloween, starting at 5 p.m., costumed neighbors will gather to enjoy Trick or Treating, show off their costumes, and enjoy a fun neighborhood event.

Check and see what your neighborhood is doing this Halloween. Even if they are not hosting an event, many neighborhoods accept Trick or Treaters and love to see kids in costumes. Halloween is a great time to get to know your neighbors.

Before hitting the streets in search of candy, consider bringing the kids by the Whittle Springs Fire Station, 3113 Valley View Dr., at 4 p.m. Channel 10’s Alive at Five at Four will be filming a Halloween special! Have the kids there in costume by 4 p.m., and they are guaranteed to make it on the show.
