The FCBPA had their monthly luncheon meeting on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. Several candidates and local elected officials were in attendance: Patti Lou Bounds, Knox County School Board District 7 member; Kyle Hixson, candidate for criminal court judge; and John Fugate, surrogate for Wesley Stone who is also running for criminal court judge.

The guest speaker was Kelly Hayman, Annual Gifts Officer for The Boys & Girls Clubs of The Tennessee Valley. They have 17 clubs that currently serve four counties (Anderson, Blount, Loudon and Knox).  The goals are promoting academic success, building good character and citizenship, and establishing healthy lifestyles. This is achieved through numerous programs offered such as Power Hour which is dedicated to homework assistance with tutors and Youth Force geared towards preparing high school students with job readiness skills and apprenticeships.
