In this turbulent world of today, there are many things that make us smile or feel good. Some facts of life are too ridiculous or too factitious to even think about, so where can we go to turn our thoughts inward to happy facts or times. We can look up the Fun Facts on Google or even read a book about them. The library is never crowded, hardly ever have more than ten people in them, and there you will find many books to help you with fun facts. Let me give you some facts; some are educational, some are hilarious, and others will cause your eyebrows to rise.
Honey cannot spoil. It can last for 3,000 years.
George Bush was a cheerleader in high school, and also at Yale.
The unicorn is the national animal of Scotland.
Madonna suffers from brontophobia (fear of thunder)
You cannot breathe or swallow at the same time.
Golf balls tend to have 336 dimples.
Montpelier, Vermont is the only U.S capital without a McDonald’s.
Canada is south of Detroit. (Just look at a map)
The Four Corners is the only spot in the United States where you can stand in four states at once: Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico.
Bats are the only mammals that can fly.
Elephants can’t jump.
It’s impossible to hum while holding your nose. (just try it).
We shake hands to show that we’re unarmed.
I hope I have made someone smile today. Even though the times are a-changing’, there are still things to smile about. Smile at a baby just learning to walk. Smile at a squirrel playing outside your window. (I do). Smile at two kittens playing. Laugh at an episode of I Love Lucy or any other episode that has made you laugh years ago, most of all, remember God said, “these things too shall pass away.”
Thought for the day; Even the darkest night will end and the sun will shine. Victor Hugo
