Knox County Parks & Rec to Host Glow Party

Knox County Parks & Recreation will light Ball Camp Park on Friday, Sept. 9 from 8 to 10 p.m. for its first-ever Glow Party.

The event will feature interactive games, a foam pit, audio-controlled lasers, blacklights, music, body paint and splatter paint zones, themed onsite concessions, and glow stick giveaways. Take-home merchandise will also be available for purchase.

The event is free and open to the public. Folks are encouraged to wear bright, fluorescent colors and comfortable clothing that can get messy. Please note, however, that alcohol is not permitted at this event.

“Knox County has a host of recreational assets and incredible parks,” said Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs. “Recreation is about more than green space, so we are thrilled to see our Parks & Recreation staff finding unique ways to bring people into our parks.”

The Department has been seeking input from park patrons regarding desired programming and areas of need. Several new events have come out of this community-wide collaboration including the fall festival, Yoga in the Park, Points and Pints, Trunk-or-Treat, and the expansion of the Second Saturday Concert Series.

“These events are about togetherness,” said Parks & Recreation Senior Director Joe Mack. “We are working hard to create new experiences that highlight the best of what these parks and their neighborhoods have to offer.”

Ball Camp Park is located at 8734 Ball Camp Pike.
