Even Liberals Admit J.D. Vance Won The Debate

Sen. J.D. Vance did so well in the vice presidential debate on Tuesday, Oct. 1, that it brought joy to the hearts of worried Republicans.

It was really enjoyable to see the grimaces and sour looks on the face of the very partisan Democrats when they had to admit that Vance not only won the debate, but that he was also knowledgeable, confident, and – shock of all shocks – even likeable.

I reported in one of my earlier columns that Syracuse University’s School of Communications (certainly not a conservative organization) released a study last Dec. 30 that said only 3.4% of journalists were Republicans.

It has been very clear for a long time that the national media is the strongest part of the Democratic Party.

The late Charles Krauthammer, a syndicated columnist and television commentator, was a brilliant man with two degrees from Harvard.

For many years, he was a liberal Democrat and at one time in his career was a speechwriter for Vice President Walter Mondale.

He became a conservative, and once wrote that you know everything you need to know to understand American politics when you realize that liberals don’t just think conservatives are wrong on the issues, they believe conservatives are evil.

This at least partly explains why many on the Left have so much hatred for those who disagree with them. Many liberals have such a high opinion of themselves, they just cannot believe and are personally offended that anyone would even question their opinions.

Democrats were ecstatic when Donald Trump did so horribly in the debate against the very dumb Kamala Harris.

They had almost overnight developed such a hatred for J.D. Vance they were convinced he would come across as mean, stupid and unlikeable during the debate. They were licking their chops in their eagerness for this debate to begin.

Actually, I don’t think Gov. Walz did that poorly, but the Democrats in the media were just so shocked and disappointed that Vance did so well and that he was so clearly the winner of the contest.

My wife, Vickie, said she thought the country would be better off if Vance and Walz were the presidential candidates instead of Trump and Harris.

I don’t understand why Democrats are not really embarrassed that so many people are fleeing Democrat-run cities and states and moving to Republican-run states.

What is even harder to understand is why many of these refugees from Democrat cities and states move to Republican areas and continue to vote Democrat.

Most of the Democrats in Knoxville and Knox County, with the exception of most local African-Americans, are people who have moved here from messed up, Democrat-run areas.

Then, too, people have come across our Southern border this year from over 150 other countries. They are fleeing socialism.

In most countries around the world, people have fallen for the myth of socialism and had socialist governments forced on them, and their economies have been ruined.

God has blessed every nation with natural beauty or natural resources (some nations with both) that could have made all those countries wealthy if they had small governments and capitalist, free market economies.

As a result of big government socialism, almost half the people in this world have to get by on $4.00 or less a day, and over 70% on $10 or less a day.

The simplest, easiest-to-understand solution to any problem is to turn it over to the government. Yet, this almost never works because, especially at the federal or national level, all the incentives and pressures to hold costs down and operate efficiently are removed.

Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs speaks frequently about the siren call of socialism. And Mark Cuban, one of the hosts of Shark Tank, once said if you want to make something really expensive, make it free. Think about healthcare and college tuition.

When socialism has hurt so many people around the world, it would be a terrible mistake for us to elect a socialist like Kamala Harris as our next president.
