Elections Should Be Decided On Policies, Not Personalities

I realize there are millions of people who seem to hate Donald Trump. There apparently are several million more who, while not hating the man, at least dislike him

This hatred or dislike makes many people refuse, or at least hesitate, to admit they are going to vote for him. This has caused Trump to poll two or three points lower than the percentage of votes he has actually received on election days. Two or three points can be very significant in a close election.

Trump himself knows how most people feel about him and has urged voters to vote for him even if they don’t like him.

I have said and written several times that there are many things that Trump has said or done that make it hard on his supporters, and that they wish he had not said or done.

But the problems we face as a country or as individuals are just far too important to turn this election into a personality contest. The policies are much more important than the personalities.

Last Dec. 30, the Syracuse University School of Public Communications released a survey they had done at least a couple of other times over the years.

This report said only 3.4% of people identifying themselves as journalists called themselves Republicans. This percentage had slowly dropped from 18% who said they were Republicans in 2002.

We saw this very clearly when the media allowed Biden to hide in his home for almost the entire 2020 campaign, and in his rare public appearances, they would ask tough questions like what flavor of Ice cream he was eating.

Now, it is obvious that the Democrat media is hoping to allow Harris to laugh and smile her way into the White House.

People need to realize if they vote for Harris, they are voting for higher gas prices because she has always been for more restrictions on oil exploitation and production.

They will be voting for higher utility bills because Harris has always been for the falsely named Green New Deal. In Germany where they have these laws, utility bills on average are three times higher than ours, even though Germans have much smaller houses.

A Harris victory will lead to more crime. She has always been for no-bail laws and even helped raise money to defend people who had burned and looted Minneapolis.

Her supporter, multi-billionaire George Soros, has contributed mega-millions to elect soft-on-crime prosecutors in over 50 major cities, who over the last few years have been reducing felonies into misdemeanors to make it falsely appear that crime has gone down.

A Harris vote is a vote for much more immigration, and she has said in televised interviews in the past that she wants to give illegal immigrants free everything – healthcare, housing (often in expensive hotels), education, etc.

And a recent August Jobs Report from the Bureau of Labor said, “U.S.-born workers lost more than 1.3 million jobs, while foreign-born workers gained over 1.2 million jobs during the same period.”

A Harris vote is a vote to force more people into electric vehicles at a time when our electric grid is already overloaded with our computers and all kinds of technology.

People do not want these vehicles. They will be even more expensive and too heavy for our roads and guardrails. This would not help Americans, but it will be great for China where over 80% of the electric vehicle batteries are made.

Electric vehicles, which Harris has said she loves, are a sop to environmental extremists. Like limitations on oil production, it is all designed to force people to drive less.

A Harris victory would mean millions more abortions. Pro-abortion people have always falsely claimed they want abortions to be safe, legal, and rare.

Making abortions available in every state, any time and any place, as Harris wants, would obviously lead to record numbers of abortions – anything but rare.

Surely young women will not vote for higher taxes, a higher cost of living, higher crime rates, much higher immigration, and less freedom for everything else just so they can be free to abort babies.
