Second Harvest Food Bank Hosts Thanksgiving Food Distribution
Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee will host a Thanksgiving food distribution at Redemption Church at 3550 Pleasant Ridge Road, Knoxville, TN 37921 on Wednesday, November 20th, from 10:00 a.m. until all allotted food is distributed.
Gates will open at 8.00 a.m. Second Harvest asks the public not to arrive prior to this time as the church gate will be closed and there cannot be early entry.
Second Harvest would like to thank Stand Out for Good, Inc. for sponsoring this Thanksgiving distribution. Each household who attends the distribution will receive items for a traditional holiday meal along with other shelf-stable goods and fresh produce.
“This is just one example of the 230 Mobile Pantries we operate each year across our 18-county service area, delivering 1.75 million pounds of food to those in need. It’s one of the many ways Second Harvest is committed to nourishing our communities,” said Elaine Streno, Executive Director of Second Harvest.
Second Harvest will provide food to 800 families at this Thanksgiving distribution. Each vehicle can receive food for up to two (2) households. Second Harvest asks that those picking up for two households bring proof of address to confirm that they live at different addresses.
