AARP To Host Scam Jam Event to Fight Fraud
Free Fraud Prevention Event to Feature National, Local Experts
AARP Tennessee is taking the fight against fraud to the next level. On February 27, the organization will host a Scam Jam event to equip residents with the tools and resources to stay one step ahead of scammers.
The Scam Jam is a free community event designed to help residents learn the red flags to proactively spot scams, featuring panel discussions, special presentations, and free fraud fighting resources. Experts from law enforcement, consumer protection, and fraud prevention will share practical tips and real-life stories to arm attendees with the knowledge and tools they need to protect themselves and others from fraud.
“In 2023, Tennesseans lost an estimated $133 million due to frauds and scams.* Scammers are working harder than ever to steal our hard-earned money,” said AARP Tennessee State Director Mia McNeil. “We’re bringing state and national experts together for a free community event that will empower folks to fight back against fraud.”
