Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon seeks volunteers for East Tennessee’s largest road race

Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon organizers are calling on the community to volunteer for the April 5-6 race weekend. Volunteers will support participants and spectators throughout East Tennessee’s premier running event.

“In Knoxville, our volunteer spirit is second to none,” said Jason Altman, Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon race director. “We’re asking our community to help us make this year’s marathon weekend even more special by stepping up and going the extra mile for participants coming from Knoxville and around the world.”

The two-day community event on Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6, has a variety of positions to fill. Race officials specifically are looking for volunteers to act as course monitors, staff the Goody’s Health & Fitness Expo on Saturday, at the finish line for all races and at water stations during the Sunday races. Volunteers may sign up individually or in groups.

“We are grateful to have a supportive and giving community,” Altman said. “Whether you know a participant or just want to get in on the excitement, we invite you to join us and help make this year’s Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon the best yet.”

Volunteers should complete online registration at knoxvillemarathon.com/volunteer-spectators and choose the day, time and task that best suits their individual or group preferences.

To thank them for their contributions, volunteers are invited to attend the Volunteer Appreciation Party on Thursday, April 17 at 6 p.m. at Calhoun’s on the River.
