Con Hunley set to return to UC Opry March 29
One of East Tennessee’s most beloved performers is coming back for an encore performance at the Union County Opry. Performing there in 2023 and 2024, Con Hunley is looking forward to bringing his family and band back for another show at the end of this month.
Fans in East Tennessee see these shows as a homecoming for Hunley. His parents, their parents and countless dozens of aunts, uncles and cousins were raised in the area. “Though we lived in Knoxville, I have a lot of sweet memories of spending time in Luttrell, Sharp’s Chapel, Maynardville, Big Ridge, Powder Springs … We had so many family and friends there, and all those people and places hold a very special place in my heart.”
Hunley has performed on country music’s biggest stages throughout his career, touring with and sharing the stage with some of country music’s biggest names. He has seen 25 of his songs hit the Billboard Country Hot 100, and 11 of those hit the Top Twenty. And make no mistake about it, Hunley is still going strong.
Hunley will be performing his show this year on Saturday, March 29 at the Union County Opry held in the auditorium of Union County High School. Tickets are reserved this year and range in price from $23.18 to $39.19.
“We have performed at the Union County Opry for the last couple of years, and it’s been just great! I’m looking forward to another fun time this year.
“My whole band will be there, and of course my brother Kenny and sister Ruthie will be there singing harmonies. Plus we’ve got Justin Terry opening for us. Justin’s got a huge following in the area and I look forward to hearing him sing. We’re all just going to get out there and have a lot of fun! I hope to see a lot of family and friends in the crowd!”
The show at the Union County Opry will start at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:00. Tickets can be purchased in advance online at unioncountyopry.com and at the Kitchen Design Center in Maynardville, or by calling (865)556-4255. Tickets will also be available at the door.
