When Amber Martin talks about the Max, she does so with a passion. Amber and her husband, Jason, along with a group of local investors, have created a unique indoor center that has over 20,000 feet of trampoline jumping space.
Max Air Trampoline Park is located at 229 East Emory Road, Knoxville, just off the Emory Road/Powell Exit on Interstate 75 across from the old airport strip.
Max Air has something for every family member. It features open air jump, in-the-air dodge ball, six basketball goals where a good bouncer can slam dunk, and an inflatable air bag where jumpers can jump from the trampolines and flip into the bag! It’s a perfect venue for hosting birthday parties, sports team events, and business team-building meetings.
The facility is large enough to hold the current trampoline park as well as room to expand. Other fun-loving possibilities are being considered for the park, such as laser tag or putt putt. Local artist Gale Hinton has enhanced the interior walls and party rooms with her fun and original hand-painted designs.
“We have always loved our community and there were not a lot of fun family things to do in North Knoxville,” Amber told The Focus. After visiting a trampoline venue in Nashville the couple discussed the idea, found their current location, and found like-minded investors to bring a fun place to the North Knoxville area.
Amber added that as a therapist she works with challenged children and is currently working on an opportunity to add special times for families with disabilities. She hopes to find trampoline accessories that will afford special needs children the opportunities to have some healthy fun.
While Fridays and Saturdays are their busiest days Max Air offers birthday packages, group discounts, and special pricing from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays for Max Kids under 6 years old. The park is open 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays; 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesdays, 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Fridays, 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturdays and on Sundays from noon until 7 p.m.
Pricing begins at one hour at $12 for adults and $8 for children 6 and younger. Children under two years of age are admitted free with an adult purchase. For an hour and a half, the cost is $17/ $12; for two hours the cost is $20/ $15.
When The Focus was there recently parents and children stood before the “Rules” sign placed on the wall to read what they could and could not do. Each group had a Max Air staff member, in a referee-like shirt, supervising their events for safety.
“We love hosting birthday parties, church and school outings, and corporate gatherings, or just a large group of friends,” Amber said.
