A panel discussion on the political effects in Tennessee of the 1964 Civil Rights Act

Moderator Robert Booker, a former Tennessee state representative and Knoxville City Councilman, and current Executive Director of the Beck Cultural Exchange Center, will lead the discussion. Panelists include: City Councilman and former Mayor Daniel Brown; Knox County Election Commission Chairman Chris Heagerty; and Bill Lyons, Deputy to Mayor Madeline Rogero and a former political science professor at the University of Tennessee.

The discussion is part of “Unfinished Business: Then, Now & Going Forward,” a series of events over  the next several months to mark the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act.
