After a long weekend on the road with four games in three cities, the Force and Lady Force will return to Knoxville to play their last doubleheader of the season together Friday, June 27. As usual, the women’s match will kick off at 5 p.m. and the men will follow at 7:30 p.m. at Regal Soccer Stadium.
The Force will face Rocket City United, an NPSL team based out of Huntsville, Alabama, for the second time this season. The first match between the two teams was in Huntsville May 23, at the very beginning of the season.
Now that both squads have played nearly an entire season’s worth of games and have had time to fuse and unite as teams, play this Friday is sure to look different from May, and will give the Force one final opportunity to use their home-field advantage.
The Lady Force’s match will be against the Nashville Wolves. This second match against the Wolves gives the Lady Force an opportunity for quick revenge after a hard-fought, 2-1 loss Sunday, June 22, in Nashville.
This Friday’s match will be the last for the Force to play in Knoxville this season, although the Lady Force will be back for one more game July 5.
“After both teams playing two tough road games last weekend, we’re excited to be in Knoxville again and want to enjoy our fans and finish our season well,” said Force general manager Jason Goss.
Tickets and other game information, as well as updates on the teams, are online at www.knoxvilleforce.com. Tickets are also available for purchase at the gate.
Due to an unexpected club shutdown, the Lady Force away game scheduled for Sunday, June 29 against the Mississippi Fuego has been canceled.
