The Knox County Commission’s Audit Committee has called a special meeting for Monday, November 10 at 1 p.m. to direct the Internal Auditor to do an audit of the Knox County School Nutrition Program.

The meeting will also be to vote to have the Internal Auditor investigate the use of credit cards within the school system.

One school system administrator was dismissed last week over charges of misusing school credit cards and another director is on paid suspension as an investigation is underway.

The Audit Committee may also discuss the finding of an audit of the system’s use of the Physical Plant Upkeep fund in which several discrepancies were discovered.

The meeting will be in the main assembly room of the City-County Building and is open to the public.
