Volunteer Knoxville is helping the Muse of Knoxville recruit more than 200 volunteers to help build a KaBOOM! Playground in Chilhowee Park.

Volunteers are needed on Wednesday, November 12, and Thursday, November 13, to prep the playground site. On Friday, November 14, the project will need 175 volunteers for the playground build. Within those volunteer needs, 20 Build Captains are required for the project.

The playground is being built to fulfill a need in the area. At this time, families surrounding Chilhowee Park lack opportunities for outdoor play that are safe and accessible. The new playground will bring more than 15,000 kids in Knoxville one step closer to having the childhood that they deserve.

The playground is being built with funds from the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Health Foundation, the City of Knoxville, and the Muse of Knoxville. The project is in partnership with KaBOOM!, a national nonprofit dedicated to giving kids the childhood that they deserve by brining play to those who need it most.
