Good morning, Dan Andrews over at the news desk and here is a tourism update. Just got this information from the Director of Visit Knoxville, Kim Bumpas. I am printing it verbatim.

“Hey Dan,

We are looking at Airbnb as an industry. This has just started to get big so all CVB’s across the country are looking at the regulations. At this point the Airbnb’s don’t pay hotel/motel tax but some would love to pay it as they want to be promoted by the CVB (e.g. Visit Knoxville).

I appreciate you asking and I am all over it! I have been working with Davidson County as they just got a process rolled out at the local level and we could do the same.
