Autism Breakthrough Foundation to Host 2025 Autism Acceptance Breakfast Featuring Keynote Speaker Dani Bowman
The Autism Breakthrough Foundation is excited to host its annual Autism Acceptance Breakfast on April 22, 2025, celebrating inclusion, advocacy, and the accomplishments of individuals and organizations making a difference in the autism community. This year’s event will feature keynote speaker Dani Bowman, entrepreneur, advocate, and star of Netflix’s Love on the Spectrum.
Dani Bowman, founder of DaniMation Entertainment, has been a trailblazer in the animation industry, demonstrating that individuals on the autism spectrum can achieve great success and inspire others. Her passion for advocacy and commitment to empowering individuals with autism make her an ideal keynote speaker for this inspiring event.
The Autism Acceptance Breakfast will also recognize outstanding contributions to the autism community with two prestigious awards.
Pilot Company will be honored with the Autism Acceptance Award for going above and beyond in their efforts to promote acceptance and understanding of people with autism spectrum disorder. Throughout its history, Pilot has remained deeply rooted to its hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee, maintaining a strong commitment to giving back through philanthropic initiatives.
Dr. Gene Hayes will receive the Trailblazer Award for his work in paving the way for improved services, increased opportunities, and exceptional quality of life for adults with autism. A professor in the Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sports Studies at the University of Tennessee since 1984, Dr. Hayes founded Camp Koinonia, a successful camp for kids and young adults with disabilities.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dani Bowman to Knoxville and honor Pilot Company and Dr. Gene Hayes for their remarkable impact,” said Dylan Slemp, Director of Development of the Autism Breakthrough Foundation. “This event is a celebration of progress and the collective efforts of those who champion acceptance, inclusion, and empowerment for individuals with autism.”
The 2025 Autism Acceptance Breakfast will take place at Rothchild’s Event Center on April 22, 2025, from 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., with registration beginning at 7:00 a.m. Proceeds from the event will support the initiatives of Autism Breakthrough of Knoxville, including housing, employment, and community engagement programs for individuals with autism in East Tennessee.
