Knox County Commission Chairman Larsen Jay announced Friday that the commission’s work session next Monday, December 14, and the regular session on Dec. 21 will be virtual. The commission has been meeting in person for the past few months but Jay pointed to the “alarming spread of COVID-19 across our community” as a need for holding the meeting via internet.
“My priority as Chairman is to ensure the safety of our fellow commissioners, the Knox County support staff, CTV staff, department representatives and the citizens at large,” he wrote in a letter to the other commissioners.
He called on the commissioners to “lead by example” and support the public health and medical officials.”
