Neyland Drive, traditionally the main viewing area for Boomsday, will be open free to the public for Boomsday 2014. Tickets will be required for the Rodney Atkins concert, which will now take place at 10 p.m. inside Thompson Boling Arena after the fireworks. The change was made to remain in full compliance with state law regarding access to Neyland Drive.
“Visit Knoxville continues to have a vision for Boomsday as we move into the future,” says Visit Knoxville President Kim Bumpas. “We will build on what we’ve learned this year to enhance the event for guests, vendors and sponsors for years to come.”
Boomsday is the largest Labor Day weekend fireworks show in the country. Ongoing updates and tickets are available at Boomsday.org.
