Cutcher Promoted to Vice President

Shannon Sapp, president of Merit Construction, Inc. in Knoxville, TN has announced the promotion of Tommy Cutcher to vice president of the company.  Cutcher started with Merit in 2005 as a Project Estimator/Project Manager and was promoted to Project Executive in 2021.  Cutcher has overseen eleven projects on the University of Tennessee campus during his time at Merit as well as projects in Johnson City, Newport, Sevierville and other east Tennessee cities.

“Tommy has earned this promotion to Vice President through a reputation for hard work and helping clients achieve their goals on every construction project he oversees,” said Sapp.  “We look forward to having him take on additional responsibility with the company.”

Cutcher’s degree is in Construction Engineering Technology from East Tennessee State University.  He holds a general contractor’s license in Florida and masonry contractor’s license in TN.  He served on the Board of Directors of the Associated General Contractors from 2022-2023.
