You’re invited! Explore three breathtaking private gardens during our annual Spring Featured Gardens event. From an enchanting Japanese-inspired garden in Fountain City to a 20+ acre property complete with water features, outdoor sculptures, and the largest collection of conifers in the Southeast, this year’s Featured Gardens highlight the diversity of East Tennessee’s natural beauty.

Self-guided tours allow guests to explore at their own pace, with Master Gardeners and Dogwood Arts staff available on-site to answer questions. A $5 donation per garden is suggested (cash/credit accepted).

Please note that these properties feature uneven walking paths and are not handicap accessible; comfortable or hiking shoes are strongly recommended. As private residences, parking is limited, and entry is on a first-come, first-served basis. No professional photography (prom, bridal, family, etc.) is permitted in any of the Featured Gardens. No pets allowed.

Baxter Gardens: 3901 Sam Cooper Lane, Knoxville, TN 37918

Set on a hilltop with a gorgeous mountain view, Baxter Gardens is a stunning property made up of 10 garden ‘rooms’. Strolling the grounds you will explore the Dogwood Ramble with a variety of dogwoods, the Azalea Garden where more than 500 azaleas burst into bloom in the spring time, The Lotus Garden and Maze and The Ellipse, along with several other named gardens. This is truly a spectacular garden with abundant springtime blooms!

Savage Garden: 3237 Garden Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918

Historic Savage Garden in Fountian City was inspired by Japanese garden designs popular in the late 20th century. This magnificient garden features exquisite stonework, an extensive plant collection, and a beautifully restored Japanese pagoda. Enjoy a serene walk in a tranquil setting just minutes away from the bustle of Fountain’s City busy Broadway.

GATOP (God’s Answer To Our Prayers): 2634 Delrose Drive, Knoxville, TN 37914

Dr. Alan Solomon has spent 50 years creating this garden masterpiece which is listed in The Smithsonian Institue’s Archives of America Gardens. The garden is located on one of Knoxville’s oldest marble quarries and features over 350 varieties of conifers, an extensive collection of wildflowers and ferns, along with many unusual plant specimens. The plantings are complemented by prominently sited stainless steel, bronze and stone sculptures as well as hundred of feet of handcrafted iron rails by master blacksmith John Medwedeff.
