Come Watch the Best Craftsmen in the Region Lay Over 500 Brick in One Hour!
The SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500® East Tennessee Regional Series event is set to kick off on August 24, 2019 at A.G. Heins Company Inc. in Knoxville, TN. The competition is designed to test the speed, skill, and stamina of each participant by challenging them to build the best 26-foot-long brick wall, with as few errors as possible, in one hour. The winning team is determined by a judging panel who subtracts any mistakes from the total number of bricks laid on the wall. The mason with the highest brick count at the end of judging will be named, “East Tennessee’s Best Bricklayer.”
Dubbed by many in the industry as the “Super Bowl of Masonry,” twenty-four cities across North America will play host to the best masons in their area. The stakes are high as only one mason and tender team per region will qualify for a chance to compete for the title, “World’s Best Bricklayer,” in Las Vegas, at the World Championship on February 5th, 2020 during the World of Concrete expo.
World Championship prizes include a new Ford F-250 4×4 truck, John Deere Gator Crossover Utility Vehicle, Multiquip Mortar Mixer, and many other prizes, totaling over $125,000.

The SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500® was established by SPEC MIX in 2003 to showcase the skill and craftsmanship of professional masons. It is featured as the headliner event of MASONRY MADNESS™ Day during the World of Concrete and recognized as the masonry industry’s premier bricklaying competition with a total purse estimated at $125,000 that annually awards the title, “World’s Best Bricklayer”. The Championship finale draws as many as 6,000 spectators with thousands of live webcast viewers across the world who tune in to watch this bricklayer battle.
