Election Commission meets to confirm election results

The Knox County Election Commission meets Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. in the small assembly room of the City-County Building.

On the agenda is the certification of the August 1st election results and a look at the appeals for rejected voter registration forms.

The commission will also consider the referendum questions from the Knoxville City Council for a city charter change about how future city elections are held. Two questions approved for the ballot in November include placing the council race in District 5 in with all the other district council races and having all the city voters decide on district primary and general elections.

Administrator Chris Davis will give his report and the meeting will also hear from citizens wishing to take part in a public forum.

Commission members include Chairwoman Hannah Hooper, Secretary Julie Gautreau, Bob Bowman, Eddie Smith and Adronicus Thomas. The meeting is open to the public.
