Details: Hundreds of revelers are anticipated to watch a ball drop and fireworks, ushering in the 2014 new year.
Earlier in the day, the Holidays on Ice skating rink will be open from 1 p.m.-midnight, with festival foods and face painting at the ice rink. More vendors will set up booths, selling roasted peanuts and making balloon animals, from 5-9 p.m. Several businesses on Market Square will offer inside concerts, and restaurants will be open.
Music on the Square, with piped-in music and large screens displaying photographs of 2013 highlights, begins at 11 p.m.
The second-by-second countdown to 2014 starts at 11:59 p.m., with the ball drop, fireworks and singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
