Fountain City Recreation Commission Announces New Girls Softball Recreational League
The Fountain City Recreation Commission is excited to announce the launch of their Girls Softball Rec League, offering an exciting opportunity for girls in and around the Fountain City area to participate in a recreational youth softball league. This new league aims to provide a fun, engaging, and positive environment for players of all skill levels.
“We are thrilled to start a girls recreational softball league for the first time in years for the Fountain City community. This will be a true rec league without a mix of travel and rec teams. We want to purely focus on rec ball ensuring that girls of ALL skill levels can enjoy the game, develop their abilities, and enhance their teamwork and sportsmanship in a supportive environment.” said Justin Sanders, a representative of the Fountain City Recreation Commission.
This initiative underscores the commitment of the Fountain City Recreation Commission to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for young athletes. By focusing solely on recreational play, the league ensures that every participant has the chance to develop their skills and love for the game in a positive, team-oriented setting.
Key Dates:
- Registration Period: Now open until August 16th
- Parent Interest Meeting: August 3rd, 10:00 AM at Central Baptist Church Fountain City
- Evaluations: August 17th at Fountain City Ballpark
- Team Formation: Week of August 18th via draft
- Practices Begin: Week of August 25th
- Games Begin: Week of September 15th
- Closing Tournament: November 1st through November 3rd
Location: Games and practices will primarily take place at Fountain City Ballpark, with the potential of playing at Inskip.
Age Groups:
- 8U (Coach Pitch) – 7 and 8 year old
- 10U – 9 and 10 year old
- 12U – 11 and 12 year old
