You or your favorite fan can lead the Pride of the Southland Marching Band by directing Rocky Top at a home football game this fall.

This and other exciting opportunities will be auctioned during the April 9th Gala for the University of Tennessee School of Music.  The School’s Board of Advisors is hosting the Gala at Cherokee Country Club.

The black-tie evening of cocktails and dinner includes sparkling live music – from jazz to opera to classical violin to a cappella.  A silent auction and open bar will precede a sit-down dinner with a live auction during and following dinner.  Guests can bid on items such as performances by the UT School of Music students and faculty, vacation getaways, sensational dining experiences and the opportunity to lead the Pride of the Southland Marching Band.

The Gala Chair, Judy Morman, states, “The Gala is unlike any other event in East Tennessee.  The evening is studded with stellar performances by UT students.  All money raised goes to music scholarships.”  Tickets for the event are $175 and are available by calling (865)974-7547.  Auction items and details may be previewed at music.utk.edu/gala.
