On Saturday, October 27, 2018, come to the Midway IGA parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to get great barbecue to benefit the Gibbs High School Foundation. You can enjoy wood smoked pulled pork barbecue along with cole slaw, baked beans, bun, homemade sauce and a cookie for just $8.50 per plate. Sit and enjoy or take home but don’t forget, all proceeds will help build a better Gibbs High School. You can get tickets at the Gibbs High School office or from Roy Mullins, Gary Acuff, Smiley Clapp, Jimmy Hipshire or Mark Field.
Gibbs High School has been educating the members of our community for over 105 years. An exhibition area has been established at the school to display artifacts from the school’s history.
The Gibbs High School Foundation supports student excellence. Each month during the school year, 8 students are recognized as Eagles of the Month. The students are given a gift bag with gift cards and coupons for area businesses.
The Foundation contributes to the needs of Gibbs High School outside of the Knox County budget. The Foundation awards grants to teachers and recognizes students who excel. We have already purchased a classroom set of computers with a charging station for the school and have helped send chorus students to perform at Radio City Music Hall.
