The Knox County Election Commission is hosting an open house/informational session on its new Verity paper-based voting system on Saturday, June 27th from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. at its Downtown West Early Voting Center, 1645 Downtown West Blvd. in Knoxville.

Election Commission representatives will show voters the basic layout of the polling place and how to complete and cast a paper ballot.

“This will be the first of multiple opportunities for Knox Countians to see the system in person and see for themselves how easy it is to vote a paper ballot,” said Chris Davis, Administrator of Elections.

It is anticipated that a couple of additional open houses at different locations will be scheduled in the near future.

An additional open house that has been scheduled will be on Saturday, July 11th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., also at the Downtown West Early Voting Center, 1645 Downtown West Blvd. in Knoxville

More information, including videos on how to cast a ballot and a flyer on the proper way to complete a ballot, can be found on the front page of www.knoxvotes.org. Early Voting for the State and Federal Primary/County General/Town of Farragut Municipal Election begins Friday, July 17th.

Everyone is welcome; please note that social distancing will be enforced and attendees may have to wait in line, depending on attendance.
