On Monday, August 19, 2024 at 7:30 a.m., the Knox County Election Commission, per State law, will conduct a post-election audit of the top race on the Knox County General ballot from the August 1, 2024 election.

Tennessee law outlines the procedures to be used and mandates that the top race on the ballot, the Assessor of Property race in this election – will be audited.

Specifically, the five (5) election day precincts and one (1) early voting location, chosen randomly by the Knox County Election Commission to be audited, are:

    • Election Day – Precinct 24Q – Sequoyah Elementary School
    • Election Day – Precinct 25 – South Knoxville Community Center
    • Election Day – Precinct 27 – South Knox Optimist Club
    • Election Day – Precinct 29 – Anderson Headstart
    • Election Day – Precinct 69S – Northshore Elementary School
    • Early Voting – Meridian Baptist Church

The audit will take place at the Main office of the Election Commission at 300 Main Street, Room 229 beginning at 7:30 a.m. and will be followed by the Certification meeting for the August 1, 2024 election. The Certification meeting will take place in the Small Assembly Room of the City County Building beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Last week, an audit was performed by the Knox County Election Commission for the U.S. Senate Primary Election of the same locations listed above and the audit found no errors.
