Knoxville Fire Department Hosts Recruitment Expo
The Knoxville Fire Department will host a Recruitment Expo on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Knoxville Expo Center, 5441 Clinton Highway. This free event will connect motivated individuals with KFD staff to learn about a rewarding career in fire safety and opportunities to apply for the next recruitment class.
Prospective firefighters will learn about:
• The hiring process
• Job expectations
• The City of Knoxville’s competitive benefits package, which includes yearly stipends for advanced EMT and paramedic training
• What day-to-day life is like for KFD firefighters from firefighters themselves
Attendees are encouraged to bring their families, who will also have the opportunity to explore fire trucks and other apparatus, and practice fire-safety skills in the KFD Safety House.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and a high-school graduate (or equivalent) prior to filling out an application. No prior firefighting experience is required. Applications will be available on-site or can be filled out at KnoxvilleTN.gov/Jobs.
