Waste Connections, the City’s solid waste contractor, will run normal residential garbage and recycling routes on Monday, Sept. 5. Downtown trash and recycling will also run on its regular schedule throughout the Labor Day weekend.
The City’s recycling centers will be open for recycling use; the Goodwill attendant will not be available for household goods donations on Monday, Sept. 5.
The City’s Solid Waste Management Facility located at 1033 Elm St. will be closed on Saturday, Sept. 3 and Monday, Sept. 5. The monthly Amnesty Saturday will be held at the Solid Waste Management Facility Saturday, Sept. 10.
All City of Knoxville Recreation Centers are closed on Monday, Sept. 5. Also, there will be no scheduled City Athletic Programming from Thursday, Sept. 1 through Monday, Sept. 5.
