MORE ABOUT GAP

The GAP program reports that more grandparents and other relative caregivers are finding themselves becoming the sole caretakers of grandchildren whose parents are incarcerated or who cannot maintain custody of their children. This free book provides information and resources a grandparent needs to know and addresses child care, education, health,  custody and legal issues, technology, and other important information.

GAP also offers monthly informational and supportive meetings made up of people who understand what it is like to parent a second time. Other services that GAP offers are a monthly newsletter, weekly electronic bulletin, case management, assistance connecting to resources, referrals and more. GAP  is FREE to join and has no age or income restrictions.

The GAP Guidebook 3rd edition was made possible with funding from these generous supporters: AARP, Knoxville-Knox County CAC, Knox County Health Department, Wears Valley  Ranch, ChildHelp-Relative Caregiver Program, Maxim Healthcare Services, Metro Drug Coalition,  Knox County Trustee, Knox County Government, United Healthcare, and Long, Ragsdale, & Waters.
