On Friday, September 20, 2024, the Captain Bill Robinson Chapter of Vietnam Veterans of America will conduct an observance of National POW / MIA Day.
The ceremony will be held at the East Tennessee Veterans Memorial in Worlds Fair Park in downtown Knoxville.
The event is presented by AARP Tennessee and will offer free coffee and biscuits at 9:00 a.m., followed by the ceremony at 10:00 a.m.
The featured speaker will be Captain Bill Robinson, USAF (retired), the longest-held enlisted POW in the history of our nation.
The colors will be presented by the Anchor Division of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets Corps.
Members of the Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard will present the Missing Man Table Ceremony and provide a rifle volley and Taps at the conclusion of the observance.
The public is invited to attend.
